Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Split mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Split is a food discovery application that helps users find restaurants based on their craving preferences. The App uses a slider-based mechanic to build a preference profile and match users with nearby restaurants.

User Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Use automated means to access the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users through group mode or any other feature

Restaurant Information

Restaurant data displayed in the App is sourced from third-party services including the Google Places API. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of restaurant information including hours of operation, menu items, pricing, or availability.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, content, and branding, is owned by Split and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written permission.

User-Generated Content

By using group features, you grant Split a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your session data as necessary to provide the service. Your preference data remains yours and can be deleted upon request.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Split shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to dining experiences at matched restaurants.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Split and its creators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts.
