Our brains
can't decide.

The problem

Picking where to eat is its own little argument.

where do you wanna eat?
idk, where do YOU wanna eat?
i'm down for anything
ok but not that place again
...we could just stay in?

Too many choices, no good way to choose.

Split

Split turns “where should we eat?” into a 30-second game — and ends it with one answer.

The mechanic

No menus. Just six quick gut-checks.

How much heat?
MildFiery

Six sliders, ten seconds. That's the whole game.

How it works

Cravings in, dinner out.

1

You slide

Six quick gut-checks — spice, weight, vibe, and more.

2

We read the craving

Those slides become six numbers — a snapshot of what you want.

3

Match the mood to food

We compare that snapshot to ~30 cuisines and find the closest fit.

4

Rank real places

Nearby spots scored on fit, rating, distance, and open-now.

5

It remembers you

Every session sharpens your personal taste profile.

Reflection

What we learned, what's next.

What we learned

  • Shipping is the hard part — getting onto the App Store taught us more than any feature.
  • Live multiplayer is deceptively tricky; keeping everyone's phones in sync took real engineering.
  • Good design is invisible — the simpler the slider felt, the more work was hiding behind it.
